I just wanted to take a quick moment and share something with all of you. One of my clients recently posted a comment on a photo I took of her daughter and fiance, and it got me thinking. Why do I do what I do? Yes, I love taking photos but that isn't why I do it. I do it because I lost my father when I was 9 years old. All I have left to remember him by are photos. Those photos bring back memories of wonderful times spent together. This is why I do what I do. I want everyone to have photos of the important and even not so important times in their lives. Life is short. We have to embrace it. Looking back at a photo that was taken in a studio with a plan backdrop doesn't bring back a lot of memories for me. Photos of my child playing outside or giving me a hug, those bring back memories. This is why I do a special style of photography I call Capturing Moments. With this, I encourage my clients to go to something fun locally, like go to the park or a fair and I will follow along for about an hour capturing photos of them. Some may be child on dads shoulder, mom giving child a hug, child pointing at something, the whole family laughing. These are beautiful to me. It is natural and it also created a memory that you won't forget.
Here is the comment that was posted by one of my wonderful clients from Texas:

Here is the photo:
This was taken at a park. We all went to just enjoy the Christmas Festival and let our daughters play and I had my camera out shooting pictures the whole time. Now they have this wonderful memory and great photo to go with it.
Here are a few other Capturing Moments Photos:
Both of these photos bring memories for me. My daughter loves to play outside and I will always have these photos to remember her as a toddler running around outside playing.
Have a great weekend!
Carmen
