Let's Have a Little Chat....Shall We?

Let's have a little chat....Shall we?

I saw a post about this topic today in a forum I am in and honestly... I felt extremely compelled to write about it. The post was very simple and asked the question " If you support Same Sex Marriage and shoot LGBT couples, do you put something on your website or blog identifying that you do?"

This is a totally honest and welcome question... Here is my answer:
I don't think that you need to put something on your website or blog saying it.... Why? Because to me, there is NO difference between a LGBT couple and a straight couple... My clients are my clients. I LOVE all my clients no matter what their sexual orientation is.

 LOVE is LOVE.

The thread started out absolutely awesome and with some amazing and positive answers but it quickly went south....... Here is the one thing I got out of it... If  YOU are not comfortable photographing LGBT couples and their families...that's fine....recommend them to someone who will give them the time and attention to make their session great.

There is NO need to be snarky or rude or try to deceive them.....Just be honest.

I welcome LGBT couples and their families with open arms...... I know that I lose fans when I post about these amazing couples that I photograph and I'm sure someone says something snide about it. BUT you know what... That's okay.. They can have their opinion.

These couples and their families are apart of my life. I see them NO differently than any of my other clients. I will NEVER try to push my beliefs off on my clients or anyone else. All I ask is that everyone be respectful and if you don't have anything nice to say... Well don't say anything at all.

So if you ever wonder why I don't put a big badge on my blog that says I support same sex marriage or that I photograph LGBT couples and their families... It's because there is no need for me to. All my clients are the same and I love all of them. I put the same amount or love and passion into everyone's session.

ALL of my clients are amazing and I support all of you in everything that you do.

I leave you with this song by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis:
